They could ask you to do a vampires movie, since they go so strong right now.
I’m too old for that.
There has to be an older relative in the arc of the saga.
My daughter would be enthustiastic about it. She never really cared about my Star Wars films, but she’s mad about Twilight. And about Robert Pattinson, as well. She even met him.
Tell us about it.
She wanted to go to the New Moon première afterparty and a friend of mine, who took her there, introduced her to Pattinson. She told she was super excited but that she didn’t make a bad impression. I’m very proud that she behaved with dignity.

Robert Pattinson talks to us about his new film, Remember Me, what appealed about the character and its themes and working with Pierce Brosnan as his father. He also discusses how he chooses projects outside of the Twilight movies, and why brooding is a new term for him.
What did you like about the script for Remember Me?
Robert Pattinson: I’d read tons of scripts over the summer, after I did Twilight – I mean hundreds… and everything just seemed exactly the same. This one initially stood out in the way the dialogue was written: it just seemed much more naturalistic than most things.Tyler as a character – it seems that most movies which have a young male protagonist as the lead have to be either a virgin, or have to learn everything during the movie, or they always go through the trials of the movie and end up a different person and they’re completely fine afterwards. But Tyler starts off with a lot of baggage and a very full and developed character, and ends up being developed in a slightly different way, rather than: „Oh I’m fine now!“ You just never see that in films very much, especially for young people’s parts.
How was working with Pierce Brosnan as your father?
Robert Pattinson: I never, ever would have thought initially it would have been someone like Pierce playing Charles. I think he has an innate likeability to him, as soon as you meet him he’s very, very charismatic. Charles, on the page, was someone who’s very domineering and quite a negative character, and Pierce just by being Pierce can change the whole dynamic of it, which made for a much for interesting relationship. He’s a really nice guy.

I was lucky enough to attend the London premiere of Remember Me and meet Robert Pattinson and Emilie De Ravin earlier this month. Rob and Emilie chatted about their film, their roles in Twilight and Lost, and lots more. In Part One of this series of interviews Robert reveals how he felt during the fight scenes, how he views father figures, his role in Bel Ami and his relationship with his friends and family. Stay tuned for the next installments!
On playing brooding types, and whether he’d consider a lighter role: „I did the kind of lighter stuff before Twilight came out, and it just so happened that Twilight’s become so much about the archetype of the brooding person. I mean I never thought that Tyler was that brooding to be honest [laughs], and then I just get it at every single thing, people saying, „brood, brood, brood“ — I hadn’t even heard the word before Twilight! I guess I like to play broken and troubled characters because it seems more interesting, especially because I’m not that broken and troubled myself.“
On his new roles: „I’m doing something now [Bel Ami] that’s still quite dark, but the guy, his character isn’t so fractured, he’s just someone who’s incredibly focused and has a lot of confidence in himself, and nothing can shake his confidence. And then after that, I think there’s a kind of lighter thing as well. I don’t know, it’s not really that they’re angsty it’s just that joy seems to be more a universal emotion in script, it’s quite difficult — if you’re happy, you’re happy.“

Robert Pattinson has revealed he is extremely picky about roles and dislikes most of the scripts he is sent.
The 23-year-old actor has become a global superstar after playing brooding vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight, but his latest film is indie flick Remember Me, which he revealed stood out from the hundreds of roles he has been offered.
Robert Pattinson is picky about which film roles he takes
Robert said: „I never like anything, so it’s quite easy to decide what to do – I’ve never felt any pressure to do anything, particularly. Even when we were shooting it [Remember Me] I never thought about the box office.“
He added: „I had read tonnes and tonnes of scripts over the summer after I did Twilight, I mean hundreds, and everything seemed exactly the same.
„But this one, the way the dialogue was written, it just seemed much more naturalistic than most things.
„It’s not really a feel-good movie. They don’t make movies like it anymore, I think that’s how I kind of choose stuff, that’s the only criteria I have. There seems to be a gap in the market for something and I just try and do that.“
Robert hopes his Twilight fans like the new film but revealed he would never appear in a film simply to please an audience.
He said: „Obviously you hope people like things but I think if you start doing stuff to please a certain audience then you’re going in the wrong direction. I mean, you don’t even know the people you’re trying to please, especially if you’re trying to please whole swathes of people.
„I hope they like it.“
Remember Me is released on Friday April 2.

La Provincia interviewed Rob about Remember Me. Some fun questions and answers as well as the standard Remember Me information we already know.
Is your character in RM the closest interpretation of your on personality?
No. I think it’s impossible to represent yourself being fully aware of what you’re trying to do. I try to choose characters that are not like me at all. The more unknown they are to me, the better I can play them because then I don’t feel vulnerable.
Do you like the tortured characters?
Those are the ones that I’m being offered. Subconsciously I try to be like my characters, and I live my fantasies through them. I’d love to be a confused young person that fights for his ideals, but I’m not like that.
Everyone beats him up in RM.
I prefer to be hit than hitting. It’s more interesting.
How would you describe the movie?
It’s a movie about a life style, about love and the desire to live. The story is told through the eyes of Tyler, who is not aware of the consequences of the relationships he has.
Trauma seems to be everyone’s bond in the movie.
Yes, all the characters in the movie have faced death somehow, losing a family member. So there’s a connection with them through grief.
This is your first movie since New Moon, is that a relief?
Yes. I wanted to do a smaller film. Something with a modest budget that I could film in between filming the Twilight movies. I wanted a story that was more realistic because I was getting a bit tired of the fantasy genre. I needed to play a regular character that faced normal issues.

The former Melbourne, now LA-based, TV and film star opens up to TNT.
Remember Me is a romantic drama set in New York. What’s your experience of dating in big lonely cities?
It is difficult. People just end up meeting in bars. No one’s actually walking around and interacting. Online dating and all these things … they’re so fake, I’m sure people aren’t really writing proper profiles. It’s all such a game instead of it just being an organic process.
So, to the most important question …What was it like to kiss your Remember Me co-star Robert Pattinson?
I’m so curious about what people want me to say! Do people want a description of his mouth?
Well, is he a good kisser? Girls want to know and you’ve been there …
Yeah, been there, done that, and ticked that one off! He’s a great guy and everything was just very comfortable.
There were tabloid stories suggesting you and Pattinson were a couple. How did you deal with that?
I don’t know. You just ignore it or laugh about it. In a way, it amuses me, but it’s stupid. What are you going to do about it? I should readthese things to find out what I’ve been doing!
What are your favourite romantic movies?
Without going into old films, because I could go on about those forever, I suppose something that was relevant to me when I was a teenager was [Baz Luhrmann’s] Romeo + Juliet. I think because it wasn’t fake. It dealt with tragedy. I’ve never been a fan of fluffy romantic movies, showing everyone happy and a perfect ending.
Remember Me deals with teenage angst. What were you like as a teen?
New Moon.
