Moviegoers are used to seeing Robert Pattinson onscreen as the most-stand up vampire around. But Christina Ricci warns that’s going to end very soon.

Pattinson and Ricci both completed „Bel Ami“ which Pattinson plays a young man rising to power in Paris using the city’s most influential and wealthy women.

„The world is used to seeing him one way, and he’s very, very different in this movie,“ Ricci tells PopcornBiz from the Blackberry Torch from AT&T launch party, „But he’s an actor, that’s what it’s about. And he’s really great in this.“

Pattinson, who somehow has managed to stay a faithful and sexless through three „Twilight“ films, works his way through Parisian society in „Bel Ami.“ At the press conference during the „Eclipse“ release, Pattinson gleefully talked about his „Bel Ami“ character Georges Duroy who he called „a completely amoral, evil character.“

„He seduces his wife and seduces absolutely every single one of his wife’s friends. Any influential woman he can get he has an affair with,“ said Pattison. „And then ends up screwing over the entire society and ends up making millions and millions of francs.“

Pattinson taps into some serious actresses in Ricci and Uma Thurman. His Duroy is such a cad that he not only dumps Ricci once, but several times as he rises to the top.

„We have an on-off relationship through the whole movie and I get my heart broken a few times,“ says Ricci.

And does she handle her onscreen heartbreaks with less drama than Pattinson’s co-star Kristen Stewart who famously went through vampire withdrawal during „New Moon“ in a big way?

„Yes, I do,“ she admits. „But there’s a little screaming, but that’s par for the course for a relationship.“

Robert Pattinson is on the news again with the release of his most recent movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. In this interview young actor talks about Uma Thurman and Reese Witherspoon with whom he worked with in his two new movies, and how he works with his lover Kristen Stewart on set.

- According to what we’ve heard you were so hilarious on set that Taylor Lautner says you always had to reshoot because of your jokes.
Not really, I’m not funny at all (laughs), he is just kidding. These rumors are spread so that I won’t look too grumpy in interviews (laughs louder).

- But isn’t it like a caricature that you are a romantic vampire and that Taylor is a muscular werewolf? You should be laughing about this a lot when cameras are off.
Yes, in fact, it is funny but what’s funnier is that actually I have to be as muscular as he is (laughs). I can’t go to the gym, what can I do.

- What makes this new movie enjoyable for you?
I think the increase in the number of actors. In the first two movies there were only two couples and no more. This time cast is expanding and everybody has an important part in the story. This means a large cast with small roles. Also in this movie there are grandiose fight scenes as opposed to the first two movies. And this is a different stand for a Twilight movie.

The first official images from Bel Ami starring Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci and Colm Meaney have been released and we’ve got them in high resolution after the jump. The film which also stars Philip Glenister and Holliday Grainger was shot on locations in and around London and Budapest during an eleven week shoot. Shooting wrapped on April 22nd.

Directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, the film is an erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction. Georges Duroy (Robert Pattinson), travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession. It was confirmed today by Bel Ami crew member, Ben Parker, that Academy Award-winning composer, Rachel Portman, will compose the score for Bel Ami starring Robert Pattinson. Portman has composed the scores for numerous well known films such as The Cider House Rules and The Legend of Bagger Vance, and it an excellent addition to what is proving to be an all-star production.

Ben Parker, a London-based musician, has been tapped to tutor the cast of Bel Ami with singing and music lessons. Ben confirmed his appointment with BelAmiFilm.com and we are excited to share this news with you and also to make you aware of Ben’s music. Not only is he a solo musician, but Ben has recently founded a new band, Braxton Hix. Funny name for an affliction that is NOT FUN AT ALL. haha We kid, we kid. “I’ve more recently been involved in the John Lennon biopic ‘Nowhere Boy’ and am currently in discussion about a number of other film projects both on a tuition and compositional level,” says Ben Parker. Ben has promised to keep us updated on his experience working with stars like Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott-Thomas for us to share with you at a later date. For now he has only been given a small brief in what is the pre-production stage of making the Bel Ami movie. Filming of Bel Ami is set to begin February 15.

What is it like to meet one of the most popular movie stars?

Friday January 22nd. TOPP reporter Stine Hartman got to chat with a hugely popular teen idol in London.

The 23 years old ”Twilight” favorite, Robert Pattinson, who in a few years have risen from a relatively unknown ”Harry Potter” actor to be mentioned side by side with the biggest stars in Hollywood, is the hot topic at the moment and on Thursday he took time off from his busy day to be interviewed.

Many of you will probably be envious as you now get to hear that we have met the RPattz in person, but we are saving the interview for the next issue of the magazine.

What we now want to hear is how it really was like to meet Robert in real life.

- He is deadly handsome; even though his face almost disappeared in the heavy facial hair he has now. He almost looked like a guy who had lived in the forest for a couple of months, but was still very attractive. He is no diva and seems to be like the guy next door where he sat next to me drinking one diet coke after another, admits Stine to topp.no

- At the beginning he seemed very tired. This was after all his only day off for a while now as he goes straight into filming Bel Ami, which premieres next year. But he was able to promise us steamy hot scenes with both Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci, explains Hartmann.

Robert Pattinson has a new co-star: Uma Thurman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thurman has joined the Twilight star in the film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s short story Bel Ami. Kristin Scott Thomas has also joined the cast. Pattinson plays a young journalist who sleeps his way to the top in Parisian society. Thurman plays his friend’s wife who helps him and later becomes his wife. Thomas plays a socialite who becomes clingy with the journalist. Declan Donnellan will direct the film, which is set to shoot in 2010 in Paris.
